Who Am I?

I'd love to go to the Mooosewood Restaurant in Ithaca, NY one day.
Who is this person who bought the ingredients in Whole Foods today for three recipes from Moosewood Restaurant Cooking for Health? Who is she, laying in a supply of whole-grain tortillas, broccoli and tangy vanilla frozen yogurt?

She is me.

I stocked up on staples to make the Spinach Quesadillas and the Pasta with Broccoli [and garlic, toasted walnuts, crumbled feta]. And I got frozen blueberries [very well priced @ Whole Foods] and ground flax seed to sneak into the topping of the Apple-Blueberry Crumble from the book. [It uses 1/2 cup sugar for a big pan, whole grains and olive oil.]

I'm glad I'm finding a way to "make friends with fruits and vegetables," a phrase I read last week in an Estée Lauder breast cancer awareness pamphlet--the part about preventative steps to take.

It took hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades to lose my true self in unhealthy eating habits. So I don't expect to change overnight. But step by step, gonna make this garden grow.

Good night.

TCOY
  1. Boot camp in the park, vibrant fall day. We did steps, weights, bear crawls, sprints.
  2. Healthy food choices, even buying and using flax seed for first time.
  3. Kept doctor's appt., got advice.

  1. Who Am I? You're funny, Alice. It's so hard to change habits – so, good job on the moves toward healthier choices. The pasta with broccoli sounds really good. But, you already do the most healthy thing for yourself, the thing that I struggle with the most. Exercise! I planned to be doing it right now but I find so many excuses and distractions. Take care. 3. Moosewood is AMAZING! I've been a few times; it's only about 45 minutes from my hometown. I hope you love your new recipes. Sometimes they use a lot of cheese, but you can always cut that down to suit your needs.
