Rough & Tumble Day & Ready for Bed

Update 4:30 p.m. NJ Transit’s John Durso, Jr., senior director, corporate communications confirms that an 18-year-old male was struck and killed on the tracks. Durso adds that according to witnesses “the trespasser entered the tracks by climbing an embankment, walking across one track and positioning himself in front of the ongoing train. He made no attempt to remove himself from the path of the train.”

Oh, so sad. This is a senior at MHS, someone Figgy went to CCD [religion] classes with when she was younger. How can I go on and complain about falling and hurting my knee, getting stuck in terrible traffic on my way to a mansion I'm writing about, forgetting to take my medicine. About 97 degree heat and not enough ice water. Tomorrow I plan to write about the mansion I toured in Little Silver.

God bless us, one and all.

Good night.

  1. Fashion fixes, little ones, and a candle, too. In fact, it was when I was at Thread today around 12:30 [near the train station] to snag a pair of black capri leggings to wear under my sleeveless Lilly dress that I first heard about the train hitting someone. Shop owner Kendra's mom was reading about it on her iPad. As I ate a sandwich outside the deli, a helicopter hovered noisily above but didn't land. I didn't know if it was a medical copter, or what. My heart is heavy.
  2. Ice water for my drive.
  3. Tonight I watched the HBO Film On Demand about Liberace, "Behind the Candelabra." I had heard Julie and Elly talking about it. So good. So, so, so good...with Michael Douglas in the lead, Matt Damon as his young lover, Rob Lowe as plastic surgeon, Dan Akroyd, on and on.....
