Sluggish Friday

The day turned the corner when I took Sug for a walk down to the brook....we both enjoyed it.

I wanted to start a search for a new dr. in our insurance plan, since mine retired, but sluggishly avoided it.

Tonight, Dan and I met Moey and Ted for salads and thin-crust pizza at Kinchley's Tavern [since 1937!] in Ramsey. It was good to catch up, and the pizza was tops.

Good night to you.

  • Kings, for a get-well tulip plant for Fig's sweet friend; 4 oz. bar 70 percent dark chocolate for a recipe; 2 multigrain croissants; and Mrs. Meyer's* honeysuckle liquid hand soap, $19.41.
  • CVS, went in for sack of IAMS dry dog food [ShopRite had none] but added Nivea body wash; pistachios; jumbo cashews; Newman's Own organic coffee; Smithfield bacon!; and Taste of Home magazine of readers' slow cooker recipes, because I really want to use my slow cooker more. Also, $1 American Heart Association donation at register. $44.09.
DAILY TOTAL: $63.50.

*I like this story from
Our products were inspired by Mrs. Thelma A. Meyer, an Iowa homemaker and mother of nine. It all started when one of her daughters was walking down a cleaning aisle, eyeing all the products with their harsh, stinky chemicals. Right then and there, she had an idea: "Let's make cleaners that smell nice, like my mom's garden, but still work like the dickens on daily dirt and grime."

  1. Not productive for me either. Do not listen to Spotify, don’t listen to music much. Ireland in May, working on itinerary today. Short trip with my mom to see her cousins but also some music. Will be great!

  2. Alice, remember when Evelyn Grant espoused how you *must* (remember her voice!) find a doctor who is younger than you so they outlive you. LOL! I think about that a lot! Do we know what ever happened to her?

    1. Kim, I remember a lot about E Grant but not that! Thanks. No, I have googled and always come up empty.....
