Yesterday's Holiday Mystery Quiz Winners

I come from a quirky family. My mom put Clearasil in our red stockings.

Thank you for the guesses, Lin, Kim and Lisa!

Holiday Mystery Quiz: Guess and I'll Mail You a Dollar

The winners [pls. see their answers in yesterday's Comments section] are my cousin Lin and my friend Kim. I will be mailing them their prizes. And Lisa's answer cracked me up: Santa Claus's emergency Xmas eve supplies....he's replaced the reindeer with a Prius.

The answer is:

Things Dad Wanted for Christmas

[H. guessed too, but in person. I don't know whether to mail him a dollar.  :) And my dear Sis surely guessed, but it's her policy not to comment on blogs. She likes to be elusive like that, and also feels too busy to start posting comments.]

Anyway, it's the first Christmas in my life that I won't be shopping for a gift for Dad. He requested all of those things over the years, including the windshield washer fluid. I have a feeling that every year I will pause and reflect at the gallons of blue car juice in CVS, which is what started this whole thing yesterday morning.

Have a good day!

Holiday Mystery Quiz: Guess and I'll Mail You a Dollar

Santa image to inspire you.
If you can guess what I've listed below, I will mail you a dollar. For example, is it Things I've Donated to the Christmas Giving Tree at Church? Or maybe Truman Capote's Favorite Presents? Or 10 Quirky Items My Friend Anne has Found at Goodwill? Or what else could it be?

All answers due by midnight tonight, Tuesday, November 29, 2011. If you win, I will post your name tomorrow and ask you to email me your address privately so I can send you a dollar bill. Multiple winners accepted. Thank you for making me smile.
  • Small dish rack.
  • Blue windshield washer fluid.
  • Twizzlers.
  • Prosciutto and provolone.
  • Slippers.
  • Electric shaver.
  • Shaving cream.
  • Shirt with size 17 or 17 1/2 neck.
  • Supp-Hose Support Over the Calf Socks.
 TCOY
    1. Trying hard to remember that TCOY [take care of yourself] is vital. Cannot always help/make others take care of themselves, but can TCOY.  So: Walked four laps at Edgemont Park this morning. Breathed deep, liked trees [weeping willow, holly and others].
    2. Mailed family's monthly $1,000-plus Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance bill @ P.O.--it's due by tomorrow [in Newark] or it cancels. Hoping to get it in under the wire to skirt $25 reinstatement fee.
